Media@ks.govTopeka – Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed Executive Reorganization Order No. 34 to establish the Prisoner Review Board in the Kansas Department of Corrections.
“As a part of my plan to increase efficiency in state government, establishing the Prisoner Review Board under the jurisdiction of the Kansas Department of Corrections will help save the state almost $496,000 in the next fiscal year,” Brownback said. “I am confident Secretary Ray Roberts and his staff will execute the transition smoothly.”
The Prisoner Review Board, which will serve as a continuation of the Kansas parole board, will consist of three members appointed by the Secretary of Corrections. All the powers, duties and functions of the Kansas parole board will be transferred to the prisoner review board.
