Three of Four KDOC Inmate Escapees from Ottawa County Jail Remain At Large

At approximately 5 a.m., four Kansas Department of Corrections inmates housed in the Ottawa County Jail escaped. The KDOC has housed inmates in Ottawa County since January 17, 2012. One escapee has been apprehended; however, authorities are still looking for:
Santos Carrera-Morales, 22:
- 5’9’’ Hispanic male
- 169 lbs
- Brown eyes
- Shaved head and a goatee
- 2008 conviction – two counts of murder in the first degree in Sedgwick County
Eric James, 23:
- 5’7” Black male
- 180 lbs
- Brown eyes
- Cornrows
- 2009 conviction – three counts aggravated burglary and one count kidnapping in Anderson County
Drew Wade, 21:
- 5’11” Caucasian male
- 176 lbs
- Blue eyes
- Shaved head wearing glasses and “785” tattooed across his neck
- 2008 conviction – one count attempted robbery and one count aggravated battery in Shawnee County
All escapees are considered armed and dangerous. If anyone has information pertaining to the whereabouts of Santos Carrera-Morales, Eric James, and/or Drew Wade, please call 911, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-572-7463 or Ellsworth Correctional Facility at 785-472-5501.
