Winfield Correctional Facility unveiled its new 240-bed specialized unit providing geriatric care, a substance abuse treatment program, and a training program open for residents who wish to become certified as a CNA aide to help with care of fellow elderly residents. An Open House was held 2-17-23 and 30 residents will be moved in on a weekly basis beginning 2-28-23 until the unit is full.

35 residents from the Kansas Juvenile Corrections Complex recently donned their caps and gowns to receive their diplomas through Lawrence Gardner High School as well as their certification of completions from Washburn Tech.

The first ever graduation ceremony was held on the Max/Medium side of Topeka Correctional Facility 12-16-22. In all, 14 residents, including seven residents from the Medium/Minimum sides received their high school diplomas or certifications from Washburn Tech.
