Although internships are unpaid/uncompensated, interns gain an in-depth introduction to the field of corrections through an individualized learning experience.
The internship program brochure is available by clicking here. The brochure explains the application process and the type of real-world work experience you would obtain as an intern with the Kansas Department of Corrections.
To apply for an internship, please submit the following to internships@doc.ks.gov:
- Cover letter, including academic major, minor and GPA. Also state your preferred area of work with second choices, and your preferred start and end dates with second choices.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume
- Two recommendation letters
