by KDOC News — last modified Apr 15, 2019 09:29 AM
Norton Correctional Facility will open its doors to the public Thursday, April 4, from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m. and again from 4 p.m. through 7 p.m., for open house and career day activities. Tours of the facility will start Thursday at 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.

Visit and learn about employment opportunities including employment through the KDOC's food service contractor, ARAMARK, and health contractor, Corizon Health.

To participate in tours of Norton's central and east units, visitors must be at least of 18 years of age. However, those between 10 and 17 years of age may tour in the company of an adult.

Types of clothing or attire not considered appropriate for touring the facility include see-through blouses or shirts, tank tops and shorts. No mobile devices or tobacco and related products (lighter, matches) will be allowed into the facility.

Norton, which houses medium- and minimum-security inmates, houses nearly 900 inmates at its central unit and nearly 130 inmates at its east unit in Stockton.
