Coronavirus Update

by Rebecca Witte last modified Mar 18, 2020 03:14 PM
With the heightened attention around COVID-19, also known as the novel coronavirus, we want to keep you up to date on our efforts to prepare our facilities for this potential threat.

We have been busy working behind the scenes with our partners at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to ensure we are ready to respond.

Whether you work in one of our facilities, a parole office, Central Office or are a visitor or conduct business at any of our locations, we ask that you implement the following health practices to help protect you and your family from the spread of germs:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Cough into your sleeve and sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using regular household cleaning products
  • Stay home when you are sick

If you are experiencing any of the below symptoms, we ask that you please stay home, call your healthcare provider and not visit any of our offices or facilities:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

Our team is currently reviewing our policies around the prevention and control of illnesses and diseases. We are ensuring that we have the supplies necessary should this disease enter any of our facilities. With your cooperation in adhering to the guidelines above, you can help us ensure the safety and health of our staff, offenders and visitors.

As this situation continues to unfold, you can find the most up-to-date information at the following links from KDHE and the Centers for Disease Control:
