Visiting - Food Guidelines

  • Vending machines are available onsite, with food items, snacks, and beverages.
  • A microwave is available for use onsite.
  • Fast food and prepared restaurant foods are allowed.
  • All foods must meet established guidelines and will be inspected by staff.
  • Food items must be packaged in a manner to allow for inspection without touching.

 






Allowable Items
Fast Food /  Deli Individual servings only
Restaurant Food / Deli Individual meals only
Pizza Restaurant prepared - boxed
Brithday Cakes
  • Within two weeks of inmate's or family member's birthday
  • Store purchased and in a sealed container
  • No candles
Plastic Tableware Provided by restaurant
Condiments Provided by restaurant
Baby Bottles With formula, milk, juice, etc.

 






Prohibited Items
Family-style Servings Example: Bucket of chicken, family-sized potatoes and gravy
Drinks / Beverages With the exception of baby bottle as reflected above
Ice Cream and Ice Cream Products Example: frozen yogurt, milkshakes, sherbet, etc.
Homemade Foods No exceptions
Grocery Store Items No exceptions
Bakery Items Example: doughnuts, pastries, pies, cakes (except as listed above for birthdays.
Salad and Salad Bar items No exceptions


Additional Requirements: 

  • Food receipts shall be obtained and presented upon request of the Visiting Officer.
  • Vending machines and microwaves are to be used only by visitors. These are restricted areas for offenders.
  • Food not consumed during the visit shall be discarded or removed by the visitor and may not be reintroduced.
  • Beverages must be purchased from the vending machines in the Visitor Center only.
