
Audrey Cress leads the unit that serves victims of crimes committed by offenders who are now under the supervision of the Kansas Department of Corrections. Secretary Ray Roberts named Cress as the director of the Office of Victim Services in June 2013.
With experience in domestic violence and sexual assault, Cress brings diverse training to the position of director of the Office of Victim Services. She has worked since 2007 with SAFEHOME, a domestic abuse shelter in Johnson County, Kans., where she served as an education and prevention advocate. She also has worked for The Family Conservancy, providing Batterer Intervention Programming in Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
Cress holds a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in family studies and human services. She earned a master’s degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis.
