In contrast to adult corrections, 100 percent of juvenile offenders in Kansas will be returning home, making reentry services a critical component of the juvenile correctional facilities. With reentry services, the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) is able to address domains that directly affect recidivism.

In Kansas, 97 percent of inmates will be released from prison at some point, returning to their local communities. In an effort to prepare offenders for return, inmates are provided programming that addresses substance misuse, sex offending, job readiness, parenting/family, criminal/anti-social thinking, GED readiness, vocational training, work release and pre-release.

Longtime Corrections employee Rex Pryor is retiring as Warden at the Lansing Correctional Facility, effective June 18, 2016. Replacing Pryor at Lansing will be Sam Cline, the current warden at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility, while Dan Schnurr, the Warden at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility, will take the helm at Hutchinson.
